2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information generated through your use of the Service, and limited technical information from your device.
Account and profile information
- Phone number (for sign-in and account recovery)
- Username, display name, and profile photo
- Date of birth or age-related information provided during onboarding
- Goal categories, schedules, and related preferences
- Privacy, notification, display, and timezone settings
Content you create
- Photos captured through the in-app camera and attached to posts
- Post metadata such as timestamps, goal category, and captions
- Comments and reactions you send or receive
- Follow, friend, and block relationships
Leaderboards, XP, and competition data
LVL tracks experience points ("XP") and rankings to power weekly and monthly leaderboards, streaks, achievements, and prizes. When you earn XP, we store your scores on our servers.
Global leaderboard:The global ("Everyone") leaderboard is opt-in. If you choose to join, we upload and display your display name, username, profile photo, and period XP scores so other users can see how you rank. You can turn this off in the app's Privacy settings.
Prizes: Weekly and monthly prizes are awarded from the Everyone leaderboard only, not the Friends leaderboard. You must opt in to the global leaderboard to be eligible for those prizes.
Friends leaderboard: We also calculate rankings among you and your mutual friends. Those rankings may show the same profile information and scores to people in that friends group.
Prize eligibility and end-of-period notifications may use your leaderboard position and account contact information (such as your phone number for prize-related messages, where applicable).
Location information
If you allow location access, we may collect approximate location to attach to posts, show posts on the map, or improve location-related features. You can control map visibility in the app's Privacy settings.
Contacts
If you enable contact sync, we process contact information from your device (such as phone numbers) to help you find friends on LVL. You can turn contact sync off in Privacy settings.
Device and usage information
- Device type, operating system, app version, and language
- IP address and general diagnostic or log data
- Time zone (for streaks, posting limits, and leaderboards)
- Push notification tokens if you enable notifications
- Activity signals such as last-active timestamps, if enabled
Biometric app lock
If you enable biometric app lock, authentication is handled on your device. We do not receive or store your biometric data on our servers.
Subscriptions and purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple, Google, or other platform payment providers. We receive subscription status and related transaction identifiers, not your full payment card number.
Website and waitlist
If you visit our website or join a waitlist, we may collect your email address and basic usage or analytics data described below.
3. How we use your information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service
- Create and manage your account
- Publish posts, reactions, comments, and social features
- Calculate XP, streaks, achievements, and leaderboard rankings
- Run competitions, prizes, and related notifications
- Verify posts using automated tools, including AI-assisted checks
- Send push notifications, reminders, and service messages you request
- Enforce our terms, prevent abuse, and keep the community safe
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests
- Analyze performance, fix bugs, and understand how the Service is used
4. How we share your information
With other LVL users
Depending on your settings and how you use LVL, other users may see your profile, posts, reactions, comments, streaks, achievements, map posts (if enabled), and leaderboard rankings. Private account and other in-app Privacy controls may limit some, but not necessarily all, visibility.
With service providers
We use trusted vendors to host data, deliver the app, process analytics, send notifications, verify content, provide maps, manage subscriptions or paywalls, and monitor errors. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations and include services such as cloud hosting, database infrastructure, error monitoring, analytics, and payment or subscription platforms.
For legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users and the public, to investigate abuse, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with notice where required).
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We also do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
5. AI and automated processing
LVL may use automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to help verify that posts match your stated goals and to determine which reactions are appropriate for a post. These systems process post images and related metadata. Results may affect whether content is accepted, how it appears, and which interactions are available.
6. Your choices
You can control many privacy features inside the LVL app:
- Private account
- Global leaderboard (Everyone) participation
- Show or hide posts on the map
- Restrict comments to friends
- Activity status visibility
- Contact sync
- Notification preferences
- Biometric app lock
You can also block users, delete your account, or contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
7. Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain leaderboards and account history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period.
8. Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
10. Age requirement
LVL is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
11. U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what personal information we collect, access or delete it, correct inaccuracies, and opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@scorpisoft.com. We may need to verify your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
12. Website cookies and analytics
Our website may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for basic functionality, preferences (such as cookie consent), and aggregated analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings and our on-site cookie banner where available.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
